What the role is
What you will be working on
On this, you conduct horizon scanning for emerging technologies and important developments for analysis enhancement. You also support capability development by working closely with stakeholders to design and implement advanced analytical tools and software for monitoring and analysis. You integrate information environment insights for operational planning by collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and implement strategies for effective information dissemination. You communicate your findings and recommendations clearly through reports, presentations and briefings. Lastly, you keep your team updated in the latest trends in media, technology and information operations, by staying up to date through continuous learning and professional development. Your challenge lies in grasping ongoing developments for timely and accurate assessments to support the planning and execution of information activities. You need to foster a collaborative and innovative team environment and facilitate the professional development and growth of the team. You must maintain a calm demeanour, be flexible, and adapt to changes in the short-cycle information environment. You also need to work effectively with various stakeholders across several agencies. Lastly, you must stay abreast of industry standards and the technological landscape to lead the Branch.
What we are looking for
You must have a tertiary qualification, preferably in Information Science, Mass Communications and Media, Political Science, International Relations, or a related discipline, with at least 10 years' working experience and have prior managerial experience in the related industries/fields. You must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, creative problem-solving aptitude, an appreciation of communication strategies, strong analytical and critical thinking abilities and strong command of both spoken and written English. You must also have a good awareness of Singapore’s political, defence and security developments, as well as current affairs and a good grasp of regional and international media environment. Having an understanding of military intelligence operations, including familiarity with relevant methodologies, frameworks, and best practice is advantageous. Proficiency in a vernacular language is advantageous.
