What the role is

As part of the Biology Division, you are required to provide IT/digital support in our digital journey. You are required to use software such as Power Apps, Power Automate to support applications that streamline lab management tasks such as document approval and absence tracking. In addition, you will contribute to our LIMS system by creating and managing scripts. You will also be actively participating in other automation projects to enhance lab efficiency.

Key responsibilities include but not limited to:

Application Support

  • Utilize Power Automate and Power Apps to support workflow automation within the laboratory and to automate laboratory administrative tasks.

LIMS System Support

  • To create and manage simple scripts to support LIMS functionality under supervision.
  • Provide support for the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).

Automation & Collaboration

  • Support ongoing automation projects to improve efficiency in the laboratory.

Technical Support & Training

  • Provide first‐line technical support and troubleshooting for laboratory applications and systems.
  • Assist in creating user guides and training materials for laboratory staff on automated processes and applications.

What we are looking for

Job Requirements:

  • Tertiary background in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience with Power Apps, Power Automate development, and scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript).
  • Proficiency in SQL for data querying and Excel VBA for automation.
  • Knowledge of laboratory information management systems is a plus.
  • Strong problem‐solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Able to learn new IT skills promptly.
  • Proficient in other data analytic skill will be an advantage (e.g. Tableau).

The successful candidate would be offered a 1-year contract at the first instance, with option to renew annually for a futher 2 years.
