What the role is

You will collect, manage and analyse information and further enrich them with various data to identify key areas of concerns for MOM and provide greater insights on those concerns. You will create situational awareness through horizon scanning and sense-making and recommend upstream interventions on emerging risks/issues of concern, where and when necessary. Your work will equip MOM’s senior management with useful assessments that will enable them to make well-informed decisions to achieve MOM’s vision and mission.

What you will be working on

• Compile and distil information and data received from various MOM Divisions into useful key findings in a quarterly operational and strategic report to update MOM’s senior management on the public order, safety, security and welfare issues pertaining to the Migrant Workers in Singapore. • Prepare and produce an annual manpower landscape scan covering union/labour/manpower sectors incorporating input by various MOM Divisions to provide a holistic picture of the current ground situation to achieve whole-of-government (WOG) outcomes. • Collaborate with relevant MOM Divisions and other external agencies to provide timely assessments of work pass applications. • Conduct open-source scanning to collect and analyse relevant and necessary information across news-related and social media entities for further research and assessment.

What we are looking for

• Possess a tertiary qualification (degree holder) • Keen interest in geopolitical, economic, and security-related developments and able to see the big picture but also with a keen eye for details • Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills to gather and sense-make information in a structured manner to identify gaps/trends and propose recommendations • Strong written and verbal communication skills to articulate and present analytical findings clearly and effectively to stakeholders • Self-motivated team player and an independent worker with strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence to liaise and collaborate effectively with different groups of stakeholders (internally across various divisions/departments within MOM and externally across various government agencies) • Data analytics/software skills with basic knowledge of data visualisation software like PowerBI/Tableau and Microsoft Office software like Excel, Word and PowerPoint to facilitate data processing and manipulation to create relevant reports, dashboards and presentations. (Coding/programming knowledge is not necessary but will be a bonus to overcome software and system limitations)
