Description of Division/Branch:
As part of the RPG family, the Child Protective Service (CPS) is a statutory service and it leads in child protection policies and processes to safeguard the safety and well-being of children and young persons in Singapore. The science and art of our work remain very much firmly rooted on keeping children safe from harm, working in partnership with families and stakeholders such as the schools, hospitals and other community partners.

What the role is
What you will be working on
Every child deserves a safe home environment free from violence. Child Protective Service takes the lead in child protection policies and processes to safeguard the safety and well-being of children and young persons in Singapore.
As a Assistant Manager/Manager, you will investigate alleged child abuse and neglect cases. You will also work with the children, their families and various stakeholders to keep the children safe from harm.
You will:
• Provide statutory intervention and supportive services to address the needs of children and young persons who have been seriously harmed or are at high risk of serious harm.
• Conduct social investigations and provide case management services for children and young persons who have been abused or neglected by their parents or caregivers.
• Work closely with the public and people sectors to provide services for children who are in need of statutory guidance or care and protection because of abuse, neglect and abandonment.
What we are looking for
• Background in Social Work, Psychology or related discipline
• Experience in working with vulnerable children and families or with investigative experience in social service settings is an added advantage
• Able to work calmly in highly stressful situations and environment
• Be tenacious and resilient in handling difficult situations/clients
• High level of emotional resilience
• Good engagement, assessment, problem solving and multi-tasking skills
• Good analytical and critical thinking abilities
• Enjoy teamwork
