You are responsible to minimise injury risk and enhance soldier performance.

On this, you provide sport/exercise science and exercise physiology consultancy within the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF). You develop and monitor fitness (e.g. pre-habilitation or conditioning) training programmes, and human performance projects in the various fields to minimise acute and overuse injury risks which result in stronger, healthier soldiers. Your challenges lie in being able to differentiate and identify the best practices and training programmes that will be relevant for strengthening our soldiers. You will need to be able to develop effective training programmes to reduce the risk of heat injury, and cater to the unique requirement of every soldier in order to prepare him to accomplish his mission.

You must have a tertiary qualification in Applied Science with emphasis in Exercise and Wellness and Sports Science specialisation and a current relevant professional certification credentialed by an independent accreditation agency, e.g. NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification. You must have at least 3 years' relevant work-experience in a related field. Past experience in strength and conditioning programming for public or athletic populations will be advantageous. You must possess good understanding and knowledge of research design and methodology, biostatistics and bioethical issues. You must be committed to your won onhoing learning and possess analytical abilities. You must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and demonstrate capacity to operate as both a leader and a team player. Appointment will be commensurate with your experience.
