You will shape MOM’s international relations strategy through the engagement of key partner countries and regional and international organisations, to safeguard and further Singapore’s interests in the international labour arena. You will develop the ability to influence negotiations and discussions with other countries and at regional and international forums. The 2025-2026 period will be particularly momentous as Singapore will be taking up the ASEAN Labour Ministers’ Meeting chairmanship.

What the role is
What you will be working on
• Partnering other MOM divisions to formulate and implement MOM’s international relations strategy.
• Developing and implementing ways to engage the International Labour Organization, to profile Singapore and further Singapore’s interests.
• Supporting MOM’s ASEAN commitments. These include providing content and logistics support for the meetings/workshops/conferences that MOM hosts, and overseas ASEAN meetings/workshops/conferences attended by MOM.
• Supporting MOM’s bilateral engagements with other countries. This may include staffing calls on MOM’s senior management and coordinating incoming delegation visits.
• Developing MOM’s position for, and working with other Government agencies to coordinate Singapore’s position for, negotiations of labour-related regional and international instruments
• Establishing and maintaining partnerships with Singapore’s key stakeholders and partners – this will involve travelling to different meetings and platforms e.g, International Labour Conference, ASEAN meetings, G20 meetings.
