What the role is

Foreign manpower makes up one-third of our workforce and is a significant part of our economic and social landscape. The Foreign Manpower Management Division in FMMD ensures the migrant workforce is well-managed and through education, engagement and enforcement. In particular, the licensing team focuses on regulation of key intermediaries such as employment agencies and dormitory operators. By developing a more progressive employment agency landscape and improving the housing standards in dormitories, we aim to fulfil our duty of care to migrant workers and ensure that businesses continue to get the foreign manpower they need to grow, thereby providing employment opportunities for locals.

What you will be working on

You will be part of a team set up to oversee the implementation of the new Dormitory Transition Scheme (DTS) that aims to strengthen public health resilience in migrant worker dormitories. You will be involved in developing processes and systems to administer the scheme, and ensure proper record keeping and governance in grant disbursement. You will also need to work with external stakeholders to understand the dormitory industry and help dormitory operators transition smoothly. From time to time you will be involved in analysing data to glean insights and inform decision making. As part of your job, you may also be involved in projects related to uplifting professionalism and standards in the foreign employee dormitory industry.

What we are looking for

· 2-5 years of work experience preferred · Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel · Some background in working on IT systems and processes will be helpful · Strong analytical, and problem solving skills · Good written and oral communication skills · Good interpersonal skills, able to work across diverse teams and with stakeholders across both public and private sector · Must be a self-starter and able to work independently; proactive and fast learner with positive attitude.
