What the role is
What you will be working on
On this, you advise the Command on all safety-related matters, including safety governance, audit and inspection outcomes, education and awareness programmes, and annual safety work plans. You oversee all training and operational safety outcomes, as well as the occupational health and mental wellbeing of unit personnel. You extend safety governance oversight to subordinate units and work closely with the Safety Inspectorate and other Commands for alignment with wider safety systems. Additionally, you drive the establishment and oversee the overall Command Safety Management System, supervise and guide appointed subordinate unit safety offices, ensure safety knowledge competencies are current, and facilitate proper transition between incumbent and designate safety appointment holders within the Command. Your challenge lies in familiarising yourself with operations across different domains and understanding the safety imperatives in the Command.
What we are looking for
You must have a tertiary qualification, with at least 6 years' work experience, preferably in the security or safety industry. You should have strong knowledge of safety systems and the different industry standards of safety certifications (e.g. ISO 45001). You should have experience in counselling or be a trained paracounsellor. You should also possess good observation, analytical and data processing skills, and be able to communicate with a diverse group of stakeholders ranging from top management, middle management, policy owners to operations managers and users.
