What the role is

Landfill Management and Operations Department (LMOD) oversees Semakau Landfill which is Singapore’s only landfill for waste disposal.

What you will be working on

The job description of an EE/SEE at Semakau Landfill (SL) are as follow:             

  • To supervise resident contractor in landfill operation, the operation and maintenance (O&M) of landfill equipment, vehicles and floating platform, and to ensure high availability of the landfill equipment to meet operational targets.

  • To supervise resident contractor in the O&M of mechanical and electrical (M&E) equipment, ensuring that they are operated safely, and regularly maintained to achieve high availability.

  • Coordinate and supervise contractors in carrying out the work/services on site. Ensuring that all works are carried out safely, properly, according to schedule and do not disrupt landfill or M&E operations.  Attend to defects rectification before full completion and acceptance of work done.

  • To prepare and call quotations for the supply of spare parts for the landfill, M&E equipment and building maintenance services

  • To perform any other works, duties and responsibilities as assigned.

What we are looking for

The job might be for you if you possess the following qualities,

  • At least a polytechnic diploma in Mechanical, Mechatronic or equivalent Engineering diploma.

  • Able and willing to work on an offshore landfill

  • Good knowledge of various safety, environmental, contract, labour laws and other statutory regulations

  • Good supervisory skills

  • Possess good interpersonal and communication skills

  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Able to work as a team member and collaborate with others to complete tasks assigned  

  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Able to work on average of one Saturday and one Sunday per month on rotating dayshift, including overtime or change of working hours if situation required.
