What the role is

The Lead is responsible for managing the daily operations of the Integrated Operations Hub (IOH). This role requires proactive scanning of the horizon for both emerging and current issues that may affect MPA’s port operations, including vessel traffic management, port safety, and security. The Lead ensures comprehensive maritime domain awareness by transforming multidomain data into actionable intelligence, supporting strategic maritime planning and forward-looking decision-making.

What you will be working on

  • Enhance Situational Awareness: Oversee the integration and application of multidomain information to strengthen situational awareness for MPA operations, enabling timely and precise decision-making for maritime traffic management, navigational safety, and security.

  • Support Incident Management: Collaborate with the Operations Group to manage and report maritime incidents, ensuring rapid, coordinated, and effective responses.

  • Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Aid the Operations Group in adhering to maritime safety regulations and maintaining regulatory compliance.

  • Drive Proactive Planning: Lead the IOH team in analysing data from various sources, converting it into actionable intelligence to facilitate proactive planning and optimize port operations.

What we are looking for

  • Background in maritime studies, data science, operations management, or a related field.

  • At least 5-7 years of experience in maritime operations, port management, or a related field, with at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role.

  • Proven experience in maritime traffic management, situational awareness, and incident response.

  • Experience with data analysis, particularly in transforming complex data from various sources into actionable insights for operational planning.

  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance requirements in the maritime sector, including safety standards and environmental protection regulations.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including the Operations Group.

  • Candidate must be willing to work on rotating shifts.

  • Successful candidates will be offered a contract in the first instance and may be considered for an extension or be placed on a permanent appointment.
