What the role is

The Terrestrial branch under the National Biodiversity Centre (NBC) of NParks is responsible for the conservation of terrestrial biodiversity, with a view to ensure long-term sustainability in Singapore. We are looking for a Project Manager to carry out studies on freshwater biodiversity. Major components of the works include understanding the hydrological characteristics and establishing biodiversity baselines of the streams under study, and monitoring populations of aquatic fauna.

What you will be working on

  • Plan, coordinate, and conduct aquatic fauna survey.

  • Perform data analysis, preparation of project deliverables to seek approvals for key project milestones.

  • Work closely with other agencies to manage the project, ensure timely submission and monitoring of project milestones, and present updates on the progress of the project at meetings.

  • Assist the team with other terrestrial biodiversity and conservation planning projects.

What we are looking for

  • Degree in Life Sciences, Biological Sciences, Ecology, Environmental Science or a related discipline

  • Experience in conducting biodiversity survey, environmental management, data analysis

  • Able to undertake fieldwork frequently and independently under varied conditions

  • A meticulous, resourceful, and self-driven team player who can work independently and multi-task to meet deadlines

  • Possess good writing, communication, and interpersonal skills

  • Prior experience in research publications and EIAs, particularly in freshwater ecosystems, will be an advantage
