What the role is

To manage and develop the Adult Islamic Learning (ADIL) programme and other Youth and Community Education (YCE) initiatives, oversee curriculum development, and engage with Islamic Education Centres and Providers (IECP) partners to enhance Islamic education for youth and young adults in Singapore.

What you will be working on

Curriculum Development and Administration

  • Conceptualise and develop programme framework, curriculum, and flexible learning options for Islamic Education
  • Manage curriculum development process, including sourcing developers, finalising materials, and conducting reviews
  • Oversee ADIL administrative tasks, including Google Drive management, report preparation, and database maintenance
  • Conduct quarterly ADIL Administrators' Meetings and manage communications across various channels

ADIL Programme Implementation and Management

  • Provide comprehensive support for ADIL implementation, including administrative assistance, information dissemination, and stakeholder management
  • Oversee diverse ADIL modes (Modular, Academic Year, Free-Classes, Online Self-Paced, Knowledge Retreat) and implement Learning Pathways for different age groups
  • Manage YCE programmes and seminars (e.g., ADIL Knowledge Retreat, LearnIslam Day)
  • Coordinate with Muis units (e.g., MMWSS, ILHAM) for ADIL-related matters, including Murabbi training and financial management

IECP Partner Engagement and Collaboration

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with IECP partners, facilitating regular discussions on curriculum outcomes and educational standards
  • Create platforms for sharing best practices and organise events (symposiums, workshops) to foster collaboration and innovation in Islamic education
  • Coordinate engagement sessions with IECP partners for feedback and continuous improvement of programmes

What we are looking for

  • Tertiary education in a relevant field (e.g., Education, Islamic Studies)
  • Strong understanding of Islamic education and curriculum development
  • Excellent project management and organisational skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder management
  • Proficiency in English and Malay; knowledge of Arabic is advantageous as selected candidate will be required to work with materials in these languages
  • Experience in educational programme management is preferred
  • Familiarity with the Singapore Muslim community and Muis operations is beneficial

Successful candidate will be appointed on contract basis.

The Majlis Ugama Islam Singapura (Muis), also known as the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore, was established as a statutory body in 1968 when the Administration of Muslim Law Act (AMLA) came into effect.
