What the role is

The Industry & CUGE Division (Centre for Urban Greenery and Ecology) of the National Parks Board oversees the industry development and skills training for sectors and industries under the purview of NParks such as landscaping, orchids, and ornamental fish, etc. Our goal is to uplift companies and people in these sectors by enhancing operational productivity, improving business operations, raising the level of professionalism of the sectors, and enabling digitalisation and innovation for the industry.

What you will be working on

The Manager’s primary role is to oversee and assist tenants to achieve BCA’s Temporary Occupation Permit / Certificate of Statutory Completion (TOP / CSC), with the secondary role in assisting the team with daily operational matters for the landscape, orchid and ornamental fish sectors (i.e. client management). The position is part of a team that plans and develops land, indoor space, buildings and infrastructure for these sectors. Duties will include: -

•    Review building and development plans submitted by lessees / tenants and ensuring alignment with technical agencies requirements.
•    Track progress of tenants in clearing regulatory requirements and progress of construction. 
•    Facilitate and troubleshoot clearance of regulatory requirements where necessary.
•    Work with internal teams and external parties to plan and develop a steady supply of land, indoor space, buildings and infrastructure for the landscape nursery, orchid and ornamental fish industries. 
•    Carry out regular engagement with nurseries and farms, i.e. site visits to obtain first-hand direct observations
•    Maintain the database of all NParks’ lessees / tenants in the landscape, orchid and ornamental fish farm plots. 
•    Initiate plans to develop and implement an IT system to track tenancy and lease contract renewals, and progress of TOP / CSC stages by each tenant. 
 

What we are looking for

•    Areas of studies in Real Estate, Architecture or Civil Engineering or other related disciplines
•    Good interpersonal skill is essential
•    Experience in engagement with Chinese stakeholders and knowledge of Mandarin and dialects preferred
•    Ability to work independently as well as integrate within a multi-disciplinary team


Only shortlisted candidates will be notified. Successful candidate will be offered a 11-month employment contract.
