What the role is
What you will be working on
• Develop thought leadership on emerging trends and opportunities in the digital tech domain (AI, Quantum, Cybersecurity, Future Communications, Online Trust and Safety, Green Computing, Trust Technologies) and support national efforts, working closely with cross-functional teams, including stakeholders from government stakeholder agencies, research institutions, industry partners, and across other divisions within NRF, to shape the investment portfolio for the Smart Nation and Digital Economy (SNDE) domain as part of the ongoing Research, Innovation and Enterprise (RIE) 2030 planning exercise.
• Uphold the strategic oversight of the RIE governance framework and assess the progress and impact of national programmes supported by NRF funding schemes.
• Cultivate strong stakeholder management skills and foster a culture of innovation and collaboration within and beyond the NRF, including the likes of MDDI, IMDA, EDB, AI Singapore and A*STAR.
What we are looking for
Background in Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mathematics or Science preferred. The candidate should also possess strong writing, communication and analytical skills with a keen interest to work across organizations.
About National Research Foundation
The National Research Foundation (NRF) was set up on 1 January 2006 as a department under the Prime Minister's Office. It was set up to perform the following:
a) To provide secretariat support to the Research, Innovation and Enterprise Council (RIEC), chaired by the Senior Minister;
b) To coordinate the research of different agencies within the larger national framework in order to provide a coherent strategic overview and direction;
c) To develop policies and plans to implement the five strategic thrusts for the national R&D agenda; and
d) To implement national research, innovation and enterprise strategies approved by the RIEC, and to allocate funding to programmes that meet NRF's strategic objectives.
