What you will be working on

This incumbent should aspire to develop highly competent coaches deployed in Sport Development Group who are professional in their delivery of programmes and initiatives, practitioners of sport safety and safe sport, and champions in inculcating A&Cs core values, and build a culture that is essential for participants to reach their full sporting potential, be anchored on strong values well as to sustain lifelong sport participation. Role & Responsibilities • To work closely with internal & external stakeholders to enhance the programme and coaches’ ability to better contribute to overall outcomes and narratives with attractive and sustainable pathways. • To identify areas of synergy and integration, improvements and propose recommended solutions to improve overall experience for all stakeholders. • To conduct needs analysis, design and implement impact measurement tools to demonstrate the impact of the Coach Development programmes. • To formulate a coaching framework and work closely with all A&Cs Leads to ensure quality engagement of coaches. • To manage and monitor coaches’ NROC membership and other relevant coaching status to safeguard SportSG’s interest. • To source for quality and value-added courses for coaches. • To implement a sound and rigorous hiring process for coaches, including assessment & feedback. • To liaise with internal stakeholders to design and develop training curriculum for coaches, including mapping out the areas of collaboration. • To work with external stakeholders on the delivery of professional enhancement courses for A&Cs coaches. • To actively source for potential partnerships and outreach platforms and channels that will increase the awareness and mindshare of the coaches. • To actively track and ensure all administrative matters are attended to promptly and record management are archived appropriately. • To support events and initiatives organised/ supported/ partnered by the academies and clubs, and SDG in general, including overseeing ad-hoc project teams.

What we are looking for

We are looking for self-motivated individuals who value integrity, teamwork and take pride in going the extra mile to provide excellent service to stakeholders and the community. This individual should be a sport advocate through living an active lifestyle and staying active. In addition, an ideal candidate should possess the following: • At least 7 years of proven experience and/ track record in relevant areas, e.g. Sport Management/Coaching development/Physical Education related areas • Demonstrated experience in developing, evaluating programmes and curriculum. • Good understanding of the relevant sports and its ecosystem • Prior experience in working with coaches will be beneficial. • Coaching experience in sport teams at the local or national level preferred • Strong communication and interpersonal skills (both written and verbal) with the ability to build and service relationships with partners/stakeholders • Critical thinking skills with an eye for data • Good planning, organising and project management skills • Able to multi-task effectively and meet deadlines • Ability to work independently and in a team and thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment • Passion for sport The level of offer will commensurate with applicants’ experience and track records. Successful candidates will be offered a 2/3-year contract in the first instance. Only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
