What the role is
What you will be working on
- Formulate and review policies with regard to racial and religious harmony, including safeguarding common spaces in Singapore.
- Conduct research, environment scans and analyse trends on socio-economic, intra- and inter-racial and religious issues both in Singapore and globally.
- Work closely with Muis, MENDAKI, PA MESRA, various government agencies and external stakeholders to develop and review community initiatives and events.
- Provide Secretariat support to the Minister-in-charge of Muslim Affairs and various inter-agency committees.
What we are looking for
Work Experience
- At least 3 years of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
Competencies
- Clear and Concise Writing - Able to crystalise core issues through clear and concise writing.
- Deep Critical Thinking – Able to distil critical issues and sense-make from a wide range of information and recommend effective policy solutions.
- Design for Implementation and Communications – Develop policy that factors in strategic communications considerations upfront and has a grounded perspective of implementation considerations.
- Stakeholder Engagement – Able to identify and prioritise stakeholders based on issues and build and sustain relationships with them.
- Data-driven Policy Analysis – Able to use data analytics to support policy analysis and provide recommendations for different policy options.
Personality traits
- Strong organisational and coordination skills to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced working environment.
- Able to work in a team and independently.
Successful candidate will be appointed on contract basis and seconded out to Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth.
