What The Role Is

IMDA Group Legal offers legal counsels the opportunity to work on innovative projects and policy initiatives that are aimed at fostering a vibrant infocomm media, data protection ecosystem and to drive Singapore’s digital economy. Successful counsels also play an important role advising on regulatory frameworks and policy developments. We are looking for highly motivated individuals who can develop creative solutions to novel legal issues and navigate legal ambiguities arising from new and emergent technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Advise on IMDA’s regulatory affairs - Telecommunications, Post, Media, and Data Protection (PDPC), including administrative law, TMT/ICT, and competition law; regulatory instruments; exercise of regulatory powers, and enforcement proceedings and appeals
  • Collaborate with stakeholders in the development of legislation, regulatory frameworks, and policies
  • Draft contracts and advise on a wide range of issues relating to IMDA's corporate and industry development functions
  • Identify legal risks and devise effective legal risk management strategies and internal governance policies
  • Advise on contentious issues and manage litigation

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Law.
  • Admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor in Singapore.
  • Minimum 5 years’ post qualification experience (PQE) in legal practice, and/or corporate in-house TMT, ICT, data protection.
  • Experience in litigation is preferred.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
