As a Data Engineer in the Data Unit, you'll collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to address a wide range of policy and operational challenges, from process optimisation to strategy formulation. You will also work closely with analysts and policy officers on analytics projects, while also contributing to policy formulation and stakeholder engagements.

What you will be working on

• Design, build and maintain data pipelines to collect, process and store data from various sources, ensuring data quality and integrity. • Automate these pipelines to ensure users have up-to-date and quality manpower data • Automate and streamline Data Lab operations • Be the domain expert of the data available in the lab. • Develop and maintain various data products. • Maintain data dictionaries and data guides. • Assist in evaluating technical options and best practices to ensure the Data Lab remains current, while navigating existing technical constraints.

What we are looking for

• Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or any related field • Proficiency in SQL (e.g. MSSQL, Oracle) and at least one programming language (e.g. Python, R, Stata). Knowledge in VBA is a plus. • Experience in database configuration and management such as SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS). Relevant experience in ETL processes and handling large datasets. • Experience with machine learning concepts and model deployment is a plus. • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment.
