What the role is

School of Sports and Health - Project Assistant (Enhanced Heat Acclimatization, EHA)

School of Sports and Health, whose vision is to be the leading educator in the area of sports, health and leisure, invites applicants to join its motivated and passionate team.

We are looking for an individual to join our funded project. The Project Assistant will join our faculty to assist in the research implementation and analysis of the data collected.

The Project Officer should possess strong interpersonal and project administrative skills. He/she will work closely with other project team members.

What you will be working on

The Research Assistant will contribute and support in the following areas:

•   Assist the project team in research data collection and administration
•   Contribute to administration functions e.g. report preparation
•   Manage ad-hoc research activities and assignments
•   Liaise with potential participants to schedule screening and subsequent visits
•   Support study staff for study documentation, data management, coordination with external stakeholders
•   Conduct literature review and database searches
•   Apply scientific research and critical thinking skills to the ongoing project
•   Solve routine problems in relation to the research project

Successful candidate will be placed on a contract.

What we are looking for

Applicants should possess the following:

•   At least a diploma in sports science disciplines
•   Independent worker with the ability to work with people at all levels
•   Good English communication skills, both written and verbal
•   Good analytical and writing skills, task-oriented and focused on project schedule
•   Competent in the use of Microsoft Office suite
•   Proficient in the use of statistical software such as SPSS
•   Be able to work on weekends as and when necessary (off-in-lieu will be given)
