The International Legal Division (ILD) promotes and safeguards Singapore's interests through the development of a progressive international legal framework consistent with the rule of law. ILD is involved in advancing Singapore's public and private international law policy interests, including by coordinating coherent and consistent whole-of-government approaches.
Key areas of work include:
• Driving policy formulation, review and implementation for a range of public and private international law issues.
• Promoting Singapore’s role as an advocate of the rule of law at the international and national levels.
• Enhancing Singapore’s thought leadership in relevant areas of international law, including by engaging international organisations, and participating in and organising international meetings, events and campaigns.
• Advancing the interests of the legal, economic and social sectors through strategic legal cooperation platforms and by strengthening Singapore’s status as an international law hub.

What the role is
What you will be working on
You will be expected to conduct research and jurisdictional scans, formulate, develop and review policy and legislation, and participate in as well as organise international meetings and negotiations to advance and safeguard Singapore’s international legal policy interests. You will also be expected to manage relations with stakeholders, including international organisations, dispute resolution institutions, and institutes of higher learning.

*Work Experience/ Personal Traits*
• Possess a professional training in law and a strong interest in international law and relations and policy-making.
• Highly motivated individual who is a team player
• Strong analytical skills, good oral and written communication skills, and organisational and project management abilities.
• Organisational and project management ability
• A learning mindset and willingness to be involved in a wide variety of international work
• At least 4 years of work experience in international law or international relations.
