What the role is

The Economic & Fiscal Analysis directorate is responsible for research and analysis on a range of fiscal, economic, and social policy issues key to MOF. This is done through the application of economic theory, econometric modelling, and data analytics methods, and in close collaboration with partner directorates within MOF and with other agencies. The directorate also develops analytical capabilities within MOF.

What you will be working on

We are seeking candidates with strong capabilities in economic analysis, data analytics, and data management. You would be expected to work closely with various MOF directorates to ideate and deliver impactful projects. - Analyse large datasets using analytical tools and dashboards to inform, design and evaluate fiscal, economic, and social policies - Forecast various government revenue streams - Develop and maintain data infrastructure to facilitate data access and analysis across MOF - Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, and advise MOF policy teams on data management matters

What we are looking for

- Background and/or prior experience in quantitative areas such as Computer Science, Data Analytics, Economics and Statistics required - Strong interest in using data to inform, design and evaluate policies - Experience or interest in data tools such as R, Stata, Tableau, and Python - Ability to understand policy needs, and tailor analysis to inform policy design - Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
