We are seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our team as an Assistant Director (Governance and Corporate Finance). In this role, you will play a pivotal role in financial and accounting functions in MTI.

What the role is
What you will be working on
• Manage and oversee MTI-HQ’s daily finance operations, including payment processing, recording deposits, handling fixed asset and journal transactions, updating vendor and financial system records.
• Manage financial year-end closing activities and corporate credit card programme.
• Review monthly reconciliations and post-payment checks.
• Prepare and ensure timely submission of financial returns to central Government agencies.
• Monitor, analyse, and present financial metrics to management.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, Government’s regulations and instruction manuals.
• Strengthen stakeholder engagements through forums, EDMs and workshops and brown-bags sessions.
• Work with both internal and external stakeholders on audit, policy and process-related queries.
• Review and identify areas for improvement in finance processes and policies, including automation opportunities and contribute to Finance Division’s transformation efforts.
• Manage and oversee Statutory Board’s finance operations including payment processing, revenue and receipt and recording accounting entries.
• Perform reconciliation activities, report quarterly and half-yearly financial performance and monitor investments.
• Prepare Statutory Board annual estimates.
• Prepare annual financial statements in compliance to Statutory Board Financial Reporting Standards.
What we are looking for
• A relevant field of study in Accountancy, Business Administration or related disciplines with at least 2 years of relevant working and/or supervisory experience. Past relevant working experience within the Singapore Public Service with working knowledge of Government Instruction Manuals and experience in the use of Government central financial platforms (e.g. NFS@Gov) would be an advantage;
• Committed, responsible and self-driven;
• Good communication, analytical thinking and interpersonal skills;
• Ability to manage multiple work priorities within tight timelines;
• Ability to work independently and effectively as a team;
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
