What the role is

As an Assistant Director / Senior Assistant Director in the Land Policy Division in the Ministry of Law, you will drive the development and review of legislation, policies, and strategies, to optimise land use for Singapore’s social and economic development.

What you will be working on

The key policy areas which you may be involved in include: (a) Optimisation and Management of State land and properties (b) Land Sales and Lease Administration (c) Acquisition and safeguarding of land for public purposes (d) Property registration and Collective Sales (e) Safeguarding of residential land You will be involved in the entire policy formulation process and conduct analysis of the policy issues; engage relevant Government agencies, stakeholders, and industry players, to gather feedback and get buy-in; prepare papers and submissions to seek approval for your proposals; and work with stakeholders to implement the policy changes. You will work closely with the Deputy Director and senior management. While it is not necessary for you to possess technical know-how before taking up the position, it is important for you to learn quickly and build up domain expertise in the key policy areas and trends, while on the job. You will also need to build a close collaborative relationship with your counterparts in our key partner agencies, such as the Singapore Land Authority, the Ministry of National Development, and the Ministry of Finance.
