The intern's job includes:
- Day-to-day scanning of information across different platforms – such as mainstream media, online media, broadcast media, as well as media-vendors, in order to identify articles and information on relevant trending topics and news.
- Compiling reports, studies, news articles, and etc. surrounding areas identified in the environmental scanning framework, for upkeep and maintenance of the ES repository and landscape.
- Assist with writing, drafting and curation of the Quarterly bulletin, and suggesting appropriate themes and articles. Working with vendors to select articles and vetting of summary write ups; selecting and proposing designs and visuals for newsletter.
- Other ad-hoc projects and tasks that the division may require the intern to support.
During the internship the intern will gain valuable insights and experiences working as a research team member at a public agency, with hands-on experience in horizon scanning work on a wide range of topics (e.g., social capital, demographic shifts, economic trends, geopolitical issues, government policies). The intern can also develop capabilities in literature review, sense-making and report writing in support of the organisation’s mission, as well as hone their communication/ presentation skills with peers and management.
