What the role is

As a Laboratory Officer of the DNA Profiling Lab, you will conduct serological testing, screening and DNA profiling on evidence submitted by law enforcement agencies. In addition, you will participate in lab improvement/ research projects, and assist in developing/ validating new technologies/ methods.

What you will be working on

  • Examination for biological fluids using chemical and serological tests.
  • Conduct DNA analysis of crime samples.
  • Assist scientists in developing/validating new technologies/methods.
  • Support laboratory administrative duties such as equipment maintenance, inventory management, procurement of consumables, and preparation of laboratory reagents/supplies.
  • Adhere to stringent quality control and quality assurance protocols, and assist in laboratory quality assurance duties such as checking for expiry dates, conduct of basic performance checking tests.

What we are looking for

  • Background in Biology/Biomedical Science/ Biotechnology (or equivalent)
  • Successfully completed supervised laboratory research project in biochemistry/ molecular biology area.
  • Detail‐oriented, organized, and able to multitask.
  • Collaborative team player with the capability to work independently, showcasing a proactive approach.
  • Proficient in other data analytic skill will be an advantage (e.g. Tableau).
