What the role is
What you will be working on
1. You are to develop and deliver engaging lectures and workshops in design cluster of courses.
2. You are to collaborate with Industry partners for external project and new training programmes.
3. You are to mentor and guide students in their design projects, providing constructive feedback and support.
4. You are expected to create and deliver lessons for the course, which includes teaching of relevant software.
What we are looking for
1. A member of the course team in ITE College Central, supporting in the development and delivery of high-quality course content for students in Interior and Product Design.
2. You must possess a strong background in design fields, with the ability to inspire and educate students through engaging lectures, hands-on workshops, and real-world projects.
3. You must have a passion for aspiring youths and excellence, with a patience for nurturing academic and personal growth.
4. You must possess skills in creation of detailed models/prototype and have passion for craftmanship and hands-on work.
5. An accomplished designer or crafter with a minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience with a deep understanding of both product and interior design, and a desire to share your knowledge and expertise with aspiring designers.
6. You should possess suitable credentials in Interior and/or Product Design.
7. You are expected to stay current with industry trends, technologies, and design practices to enhance curriculum relevance. Strong background in writing, communication and interpersonal skills will be advantageous.
We are looking for individual with:
- Strong portfolio showcasing a range of successful projects, including examples of furniture design, retail spaces, and/or residential interiors.
- Advanced proficiency in any 2 of the following software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3D Max).
- Have utilised design software (Adobe Creative Suite) to produce high-quality and engaging visual content, adhering to brand guidelines and design standards
- Extensive hands-on experience with fabrication and construction techniques (e.g. woodworking, metal fabrication, upholstery).
- Proficiency in operating 3D printers, laser cutters, and other common workshop tools and equipment.
- A deep understanding of design principles, including ergonomics, user-centred design, and sustainability.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a passion for fostering a creative and engaging learning environment.
- Prior teaching or training experience, exploratory projects co-created with Gen AI will be advantageous.
