What the role is

You will be part of a team of officers in the Legal Services Regulatory Authority (“LSRA”) a department under MinLaw, which licenses and regulates law firms and registers foreign lawyers in Singapore.

What you will be working on

Your role will include: • Shaping Singapore’s regulatory policies on legal services to keep pace with a complex, fast-changing environment • Reviewing the Legal Profession Act 1966 to implement these regulatory policies (where legislative amendments are necessary), and to modernise the Act so that it continues to meet the legal sector’s evolving needs

What we are looking for

*Key competencies required*: • [Domain Specific Expertise]: Develop domain knowledge to collaborate and/or co-create policy solutions with experts/professionals • [Deep Critical Thinking]: Ability to distil critical issues and sense-make from a wide range of information, arriving at effective solutions. • [Clear and Concise Writing]: Crystalise core issues via clear and concise writing. You should be a highly motivated team player with strong analytical and communication skills, a keen eye for detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Academic training in law, economics or accountancy and/or experience in legal, regulatory and/or compliance work would be relevant and useful, but candidates from other disciplines are also welcome to apply. Successful candidates will be offered a 1-year contract in the first instance. #LI-SW1
