What the role is
What you will be working on
We are looking for a self-motivated individual with proficient data analytical skills to join the team. You are expected to be proficient in the following:
• Use various data analytics tools in the extraction, analysis and interpretation of data to generate business insights for policy reviews and informed decision making.
• Identify trends, patterns, correlations and outliers from large datasets.
• Develop visually engaging and user-friendly dashboards.
You will also support our continuing efforts in driving digital transformation with internal stakeholders using technology tools to improve operational processes, as well as support training to enhance data capabilities within the organisation.
As the work involves giving presentations and reports to senior management and various stakeholders, we are looking for candidates who are confident and have strong written and verbal communication skills, able to express themselves clearly and effectively.
What we are looking for
Requirements:
• Relevant training in computer science, data science, business analytics, statistics, mathematics or a related discipline
• Preferably 3 to 5 years’ experience in data analytics and/or research. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply
• Strong critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail
• Strong skills in SQL, Python, Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) processes or equivalent, and data visualisations using Tableau and PowerBI
• Familiarity with statistical, robotics automation and low code automation tools such as SPSS, UiPath and PowerAutomate, machine learning algorithms and techniques will be an advantage
• Strong verbal and written skills with the ability to explain complex data insights to non-technical audiences clearly and effectively
• Able to work independently and collaboratively as a team

The mission of the Public Transport Council is to work in collaboration with commuters, transport operators and government agencies to improve our public transport system by keeping public transport fares affordable while ensuring the sustainability of the public transport system; and providing objective, evidence-based advice to the Government to improve the service quality of public transport and commuters’ travelling experience.
