HDB houses more than 80% of Singapore’s resident population spread across 24 towns and 3 estates. As the master developer of public housing in Singapore, HDB plays a key role in supporting the nation’s commitment to sustainable development. You will be joining a dynamic team supporting the Chief Sustainability Officer in collecting data and identifying areas of improvements for HDB’s sustainability performance as part of the requirement to publish the annual sustainability report. You will support in preparing comprehensive sustainability reports in accordance with relevant international standards (e.g., GRI, TCFD). Working with a team of engineers and technology managers, you will also be involved in conducting in-depth study on embodied carbon related to HDB’s operation and exploring new technologies as well as new building materials (Civil & Structural, Architectural and Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing) to further lower carbon footprint of HDB’s value chain.

What the role is
What you will be working on
Your primary responsibilities will include:
• Develop and implement sustainability reporting strategies
• Collect and analyse environmental, social, and governance (ESG) data
• Liaise with internal departments and relevant stakeholders to gather relevant information
• Ensure compliance with sustainability disclosure regulations
• Identify areas for improvement in sustainability performance
• Communicate sustainability initiatives to stakeholders
• Conduct in-depth research on embodied carbon in construction materials and processes
• Analyse lifecycle assessments of buildings and infrastructure projects
• Develop methodologies to quantify and reduce embodied carbon emissions
• Collaborate with industry partners to implement low-carbon solutions
What we are looking for
• Background in sustainability, environmental science, or related field
• 3+ years of experience in sustainability reporting or similar role
• Proficiency in sustainability reporting frameworks and standards
• Strong analytical and data management skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
• Strong understanding of lifecycle assessment and carbon accounting
• Experience with embodied carbon calculation tools and databases
• Excellent analytical and data interpretation skills
• Proficiency in statistical analysis and modelling software
Successful candidates will be offered a 2-year contract as a start.
