What the role is
What you will be working on
We are seeking a motivated and tech-savvy intern to join the ITD at IPOS (Intellectual Property Office of Singapore). This internship offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge data analytics projects involving with migration of our data warehouse to AWS Redshift and the implementation of AWS QuickSight for data analytics. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain hands-on experience with cloud-based data solutions and business intelligence tools
Key Responsibilities:
1. Data Analytics Project:
o Assist in developing and maintaining data analytics solutions using AWS Redshift
o Create interactive dashboards and visualisations using
AWS QuickSight
o Collaborate with team members and business users to identify key performance indicators and metrics
o Help in data cleaning, transformation, and analysis processes
o Help design and implement ETL processes for data ingestion into Redshift
o Support the development of data models and schemas in Redshift
o Collaborate with team members to identify and resolve data quality issues
o Participate in data analysis tasks to derive insights from our datasets
o Document processes, data flows, and technical specifications
What we are looking for
Requirements:
• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field
• Strong interest in data analytics, business intelligence
• Basic understanding of SQL and data manipulation techniques
• Familiarity with cloud computing concepts, preferably AWS
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities
• Self-motivated and able to work independently
• Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Preferred Skills (not required but advantageous):
• Experience with AWS services, particularly Redshift and QuickSight
• Knowledge of data visualisation best practices
• Experience in gathering and documenting business requirements (writing user stories)
• Ability to commit between 3 to 6 months.
