Key Responsibilities: • Develop AI modules to assist patent examiners in their examination process. • Create and refine algorithms for parsing patent documents and extracting key features. • Implement feature comparison mechanisms to identify and rank similar features across different patents. • Design and develop a module to generate summarised reports of similar features following specific templates. • Assist in building, training, and fine-tuning AI models to achieve high levels of accuracy. • Collaborate with patent examiners to gather feedback and iteratively improve the AI modules. • Participate in the evaluation and integration of open-source Large Language Models (LLMs) into our systems. • Contribute to the development of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems for enhanced information retrieval.

Requirements: • Current enrolment in a Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or related degree programme. • Strong programming skills, particularly in Python. • Familiarity with Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques and libraries. • Knowledge of machine learning concepts and experience with frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch. • Understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs) and their applications. • Experience with or interest in Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems. • Ability to work with unstructured data and implement effective data preprocessing techniques. • Basic understanding of patent documents and intellectual property concepts (desirable but not mandatory). • Ability to commit up to 4 months.
