The Community Relations and Engagement Division (CRED) fosters a cohesive, caring and active community. We formulate and review policies to nurture harmonious relations among racial and religious communities, and to create a vibrant voluntary and philanthropic sector. We provide secretariat support to the National Steering Committee (NSC) on Racial and Religious Harmony and the Inter-Racial and Religious Confidence Circles (IRCCs). We work closely with the National Volunteer and Philanthropy Centre to promote volunteerism and charitable giving as a way of life.
The intern will be attached to the Engagement Branch of the Community Relations and Engagement Division to expand the volunteer pool of youth leaders in the Racial and Religious Harmony Circles (formerly known as Inter-Racial and Religious Confidence Circles). Additionally, the intern will contribute and coordinate various activities and events as part of the Racial and Religious Harmony Month in July.

What the role is
What you will be working on
• Identify youth volunteer groups to engage in the Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs), schools and the race and religion space.
• To develop and execute a partnership and engagement strategy to recruit youth volunteers from IHLs and youth groups to promote racial and religious harmony in the community through Harmony Circles.
• Assist in the creation of publicity materials and support Racial and Religious Harmony month activities to foster cross cultural understanding among diverse communities.
What we are looking for
• Interest in interfaith collaboration and youth development initiatives.
• Experience in volunteer engagement and/or partnership management
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Basic proficiency in graphic design software (e.g Canva, Photoshop or similar tool)
