The Syariah Court (SYC) is the primary institution for settling disputes between divorcing and divorced Muslim couples. We also issue inheritance certificates to beneficiaries of deceased persons. The Syariah Court aspires to be a reliable, dynamic and just court which inspires confidence.
The Registry of Muslim Marriages (ROMM) administers registration of Muslim marriages solemnized in Singapore under the Administration of Muslim Law Act (Chapter 3); including the appointment of Naib Kadi and its support services. We contribute to the building of strong and stable families.
With ROMM and SYC’s digital transformation, there is an increased need to harness data that can be extracted from the system for management reports, and analyse data to inform management’s decision.
Annually, ROMM-SYC will be involved in the Statistics of Marriage and Divorce Report by DOS/MSF. The intern will support the data management and data analysis work for ROMM/SYC for the report as well as assist in the communications plan for the release of the report. This will include tasks such as data preparation, data analysis, dashboard development and report generation. The intern will get to contribute to enhancements to ROMM/SYC’s data management process, as well as support agencies’ data requests for ROMM/SYC data.
