What the role is

The Government Partnerships & Engagement Group (GPEG) contributes to the development of a collaborative government that empowers partnerships and engagement (PE) with citizens for a better Singapore. It does this through the development of public sector capabilities in partnerships and engagement, external partnerships and the design and organisation of Whole-of-Government (WOG) PE initiatives. Within GPEG, Singapore Government Partnerships Office (SGPO) has been recently established to take the lead making a decisive shift towards deepening partnership – between government and citizens, and citizens with one another. The intern will gain first-hand insights into how the Singapore Government Partnerships Office (SGPO) nurtures and advances citizen-government partnerships by working alongside a team that focusses on: • Fostering active citizenry • Building a democracy of deeds • Equipping government agencies to collaborate on citizen partnerships that cut across different domains

• Supporting the planning and execution of capability development efforts for public officers responsible for citizen engagements and partnerships - 3rd Partnership Development Learning Circle - Learning Journeys for GPEG • Identifying and analysing recent trends in SGPO’s initiatives for citizen-government partnership development - Deriving insights on Partners Portal cases - Evaluating the early stages of PD’s outreach strategy • Evaluating, and making recommendations for refining, the user experience of platforms and processes designed to facilitate citizen-government partnerships - “Platforms and processes” here refer to the Partners Portal and the new (holistic) system that we adopt after the Checkpoint era. Thus the intern will consider the user experience of both internal and external stakeholders. • Supporting preparations for leadership updates on partnership applications - Summarising applications as part of updates to PS and the funding subcomm (if any). • Researching best practices from different sectors and countries for cultivating, managing, and monitoring the impact of cross-sectoral partnerships
