What the role is

Youth Division (YD)'s focus is to build inspired and committed youth for Singapore. We work with our key partner; the National Youth Council (NYC) on two key fronts: (i) supporting and enhancing general youth development and (ii) building a vibrant and connected youth sector. The intern will be involved in conducting research on youth development issues, policies and initiatives internationally to inform youth development policy in Singapore. The intern will have the opportunity to choose from several issues to work on including youth volunteerism and civic participation, youth outreach work, youth mental health, and social networks and resilience of youths. The intern will also be involved in supporting the review and follow ups from the Youth Panels, as well as supporting stakeholder and youth engagements sessions.

What you will be working on

The intern’s responsibilities include: • Develop a comparative report detailing the policies and practices other countries have implemented for the following topics: youth volunteerism and civic participation work, youth outreach work, youth mental health or social networks and resilience of youths. • Support the team to follow up on recommendations from the Youth Panels. • Support the team to develop communications and organise engagement sessions for youths, e.g. Partners’ Networking Night.
