[What you will be working on]
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Engineer to join our team. The role will focus on the exploring, preparing and conducting research of materials for road pavement, as well as materials related to road infrastructure, footpaths, cycling paths, and bridges.
You will be part of the team that oversees innovation projects and advanced technologies to seek new solutions to enhance the reliability, performance and sustainability of traffic and roads operations, road assets and related road facilities. You will manage innovation projects which includes overseeing application researches and product developments. You will have the opportunity to work with various internal divisions within LTA, external government agencies, academia, consultants and contractors, in the exploration to leverage technologies
• Conduct research and exploration studies on materials for road pavement, as well as materials related to road infrastructure, footpaths, cycling paths, and bridges.
• Perform basic material testing, including material characterisation, tensile, compressive, and durability tests.
• Analyse test results and data, provide insights and recommendations.
• Manage and maintain lab equipment, ensuring all instruments are calibrated timely and functioning correctly.
• Assist to prepare and conduct workshops and sharing sessions to disseminate research findings and methodologies.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support ongoing projects and enhance research initiatives.
• Develop detailed reports and presentations to effectively communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Stay informed on the latest advancements in material science and relevant technologies
[What we are looking for]
• Knowledge in Materials Science Engineering or Civil Engineering with sufficient years of experience in material research and exploration
• Possess strong skills in basic material testing and analysis
• Preferably 1 year of relevant experience in managing laboratory equipment will be an advantage
• Preferably 1 year of relevant work experience in project management as well as preparing research report and publications
• Be proficient in data analysis and software applications
• Possess strong problem-solving ability, self-motivated & adaptable.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of sustainable materials and practices in civil engineering is value-added
• Familiarity with material characterization techniques and laboratory equipment.
• Experience in conducting workshops or training sessions.
