As Assistant Director/Public Communications, you will oversee both mainstream media and social media portfolios in MFA:
• Media Relations:
o Serve as the main point of contact for media inquiries and coordinate responses to ensure consistent messaging.
o Draft and disseminate press materials such as factsheets and press releases, as well as supporting materials e.g. infographics.
o Organise and manage press conferences, media briefings, interviews, and other media engagements.
o Monitor media coverage and prepare reports analysing the impact of media outreach efforts.
o Develop crisis communication plans and manage responses during sensitive situations to protect and uphold MFA’s reputation.
o Develop and nurture strong relationships with journalists, media outlets, and key influencers.
• Social Media Management:
o Supervise and manage the day-to-day operations of MFA’s social media channels (e.g., Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube).
o Develop and implement social media strategies to enhance public interest and engagement in MFA’s Foreign Policy.
o Supervise the creation and curation of suitable content that aligns with MFA’s public comms objectives, e.g. videos, graphics, and other visual assets for use across digital platforms.
o Develop strategies to respond to and engage with the online community to maintain a positive and interactive presence for MFA.
o Track and analyse social media performance metrics using data insights to inform future public comms strategies.

Requirements
• Singaporeans with the commitment to serve in the Public Service.
• At least 4 to 6 years of relevant experience in media relations, public relations, or social media management with strong analytical skills and conceptual abilities.
• Possess good written and oral communication skills.
• Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in social media tools and analytics platforms.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong understanding of social media audience engagement strategies.
• Preferably have media experience
