The Government Finance Function Office (GFFO) supports Ministry of Finance (MOF)’s role as a functional leader for the finance function in the Public Service. The focus of its work is to drive finance functional leadership development efforts in the public service that include strengthening the professional development of finance officers, setting the policies and practices on competency and functional requirements, and raising the performance of the finance function across the whole of government.
You will be part of team that drives Finance and Internal Audit functional leadership development efforts in the Public Service by strengthening the professional development and engagement of Finance and IA officers and managing cross cutting risk areas related to Finance and IA across the Whole of Government.

What the role is
What you will be working on
You may be involved in the following:
• Build workforce capabilities by identifying key emerging competencies in line with broader industry trends and WOG priorities for the Public Sector Finance and IA officers e.g. of emerging capabilities include data analytics, digitalisation and sustainability reporting/assurance
• Strategize the adoption of the Finance Competency Framework and the Internal Audit Competency Framework and review of the learning and development roadmaps of finance and IA officers, supported by partnerships with Civil Service College and professional bodies
• Plan for engagement events and initiatives to promote cohesiveness within the function and cascade messages from the functional office to officers on the ground
• Strengthen risk management through the development of an Enterprise Risk Management Framework for the Finance and IA functions
What we are looking for
Requirements
• At least 2 years of internal audit experience or those with prior learning and development (L&D) experience who are eager to develop expertise in public sector finance are encouraged to apply.
• Ability to engage different stakeholder groups (e.g. senior management, finance leaders, finance middle managers)
• People oriented and able to foster relationships with stakeholders to obtain buy-in for new or changed policies
• Good communication, organisational, analytical and project management skills
• Self-motivated, proactive, meticulous, and able to multi-task
• Energetic, highly enthusiastic and demonstrate willingness to learn
• A good team player who is able to work in a fast paced and fluid environment
• Demonstrate ability to lead and guide small teams on projects
All new hires are appointed on a two-year contract in the first instance and will be assessed and considered for permanent tenure over time, based on performance.
