What the role is

This is a 2-year contract position as a Cloud Engineer in the Digital Services & Technology Office.

What you will be working on

As a Cloud Engineer, you will be part of a dynamic core team to deploy, build, manage and support enterprise technologies in the Cloud. You will be involved in the mapping of business needs to technologies available, explore new concepts in the Cloud, providing solutions, path processes, create, maintain, and optimize these resources. You will have opportunities to experience the full spectrum of ICT migration transformation from on-premises to Cloud and pursue next-generation innovation. In addition, you will participate in providing guidance to projects involving new infrastructure implementation bringing about impactful infrastructure growth.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Working in tandem with cross-functional teams such as security, governance, business stakeholders to manage and implement systems, to identify gap, meet compliance and adapt to business changes.

  • Provide guidance and educate teams on the implementation of new cloud-based initiatives, providing associated training as required.

  • Orchestrate and automate cloud-based platforms throughout the organization.

  • Troubleshoot incidents, identify root causes, fix, and document problems, and implement preventive measures.

What we are looking for

  • At least 2 years of cloud operation experience with Azure.

  • Experience in building and releasing infrastructure-as-code (IAC) in a controlled environment with an understanding of full lifecycle configuration management.

  • Experience developing coding/scripting to build required automation and tools using Azure CLI, PowerShell, Java, Python, Bash, Chef, JSON, etc.

  • Experience in automating IT and business processes, managing enterprise IT infrastructure (servers, database, and/or network).

  • Resilient, resourceful with good problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, and thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented work environment.

  • Experience in M365 suite of products to administrate and support features like Email, OneDrive, SharePoint Online, Teams, Data Loss Prevention, Conditional Access, Azure Active Directory, AD Connect, Windows 365.

  • Experience with Linux in terms of administration and supporting operation requirements such as patching, hardening and system configuration as required.

  • Experience in managing and administration of Active Directory (AD), DNS, Kerberos, LDAP is an added advantage.
