As an Assistant Director/ Senior Assistant Director of International Relations in the Planning Division, you will provide leadership for a dynamic team of officers in strategising and managing Singapore’s education relations with other countries. You will oversee the Ministry’s participation in key multilateral meetings and overseas engagements to enhance our education system.

What the role is
What you will be working on
• Review and implement strategies to engage other countries in education, with a view to advancing national interests and MOE’s strategic position
• Work with the relevant agencies, MOE divisions and educational institutions on matters relating to bilateral/ multilateral educational cooperation, expansion of education/ professional development opportunities for our students and teachers and profiling of the Singapore education internationally
• Maintain a strategic overview and background briefs on foreign education systems
• Plan and execute visit programmes involving MOE’s political heads and senior officials overseas, as well as for visits to Singapore by foreign dignitaries
• Evaluate proposals for collaboration by other countries and recommend positions for our political heads and senior officials at meetings with their foreign counterparts
What we are looking for
• Excellent writing, interpersonal and communication skills, with an eye for details
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Self-motivated individual with political acumen and cultural sensitivity, who is able to respond well to demands of a fast-paced environment
• Prior working experience in the field of foreign affairs or international relations would be an advantage
• Willingness to travel overseas for work
