The Data Engineering (DE) Team in the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) is responsible for applying advanced methods in data engineering to enhance various aspects of urban planning and development. The team comprises data engineers, analysts, cloud engineers, and planners who work together to provide innovative solutions to complex urban challenges. Join our team to contribute to the Planning Sectoral Data Hub (PSDH), a key data platform supporting diverse planning sectors. You will play a critical role in strengthening the data pipeline and implementing automated regression testing strategies, ensuring data integrity, reliability, and accuracy. Your work will be instrumental in advancing the PSDH’s robustness, supporting strategic planning efforts with dependable data insights.

Internship Job Scope: 1. Enhance the Planning Sectoral Data Hub (PSDH) data platform, including implementing automated regression testing to ensure data integrity, reliability, and accuracy. 2. Assist in defining and documenting the regression test strategy to be applied across the PSDH data platform, aligning with industry best practices. 3. Develop and execute automated regression tests, ensuring that tests are run frequently (e.g., on each feature change or software delivery) to identify and address any issues proactively. 4. Collaborate with team members to implement platform improvements, optimize data flows, identify, and implement additional enhancements that improve platform performance and data quality. Learning Outcomes: • Gain expertise in designing and executing a robust regression test strategy within a data platform to ensure continuous quality assurance. • Build technical skills in automated testing and data pipeline optimization within a high-performance data environment. • Understand the process of platform enhancement, including documenting test strategies and executing frequent regression tests to support agile development. • Strengthen collaboration and communication skills by working closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders in a secure, high-performance data environment.
