What the role is

As Singapore harnesses technology to improve lives and livelihoods for all, it is imperative that our plans are built on a strong foundation of cybersecurity, without which we would be exposing ourselves to the multitude of threats that lurk in cyberspace. The Cyber Security Agency of Singapore (CSA) was formed in 2015 and has been given the task of protecting Singapore’s cyberspace. It is part of the Prime Minister’s Office and is managed by the Ministry of Digital Development and Information. Key Responsibilities: We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented professional to lead the organising secretariat of a prestigious international cybersecurity event. The Team Lead will play a central role in managing the planning, coordination, and execution of all activities, ensuring the event’s success. This position requires strong leadership, organisational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.

What you will be working on

1. Event Planning and Management: a. Develop and oversee the overall project plan, timelines, and milestones for the event. b. Coordinate with internal teams, external vendors, and partners to maintain alignment and synergy throughout all stages of the event. c. Manage budgets, contracts, and procurement processes in alignment with organisational policies. d. Monitor event progress, anticipate potential issues and implement solutions to issues as they arise, ensuring adherence to timelines and smooth execution. 2. Team Leadership: a. Lead, supervise, and motivate the organising secretariat team, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment. b. Delegate tasks effectively and ensure team members have the resources and guidance they need to succeed. c. Provide regular updates and reports to senior management and stakeholders. 3. Stakeholder Engagement: a. Serve as the primary liaison with an event vendor who oversees exhibitors, speakers, sponsors, and participants to ensure their needs are met. b. Facilitate communication and collaboration with government agencies, industry bodies, and international organizations. c. Develop and maintain strong relationships with partners and vendors. 4. Marketing and Promotion: a. Oversee that the event website is secured, launched and updated by the security and marketing teams. 5. Logistics and Administration: a. Oversee venue selection, setup, and on-site management by the event vendor during the event. b. Oversee the invitation, registration processes, ticketing systems, and attendee support. 6. Knowledge Management: a. Manage knowledge documentation for the planning process, including detailed terms of reference for each internal team to ensure clarity, consistency, and institutional knowledge retention.

What we are looking for

Qualifications: Education and Experience: • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, or a related field. • Minimum 5 years of experience in event planning, project management, or related roles, with at least 2 years in a leadership capacity. • Proven experience organising large-scale international events is highly desirable. Skills and Competencies: • Exceptional organisational and multitasking abilities. • Strong leadership and team management skills. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels. • Proficient in project management. • Budget management expertise and familiarity with the government procurement and reimbursement process is desired. • Creative problem-solving and decision-making skills. • Flexibility to work non-standard hours during peak event periods e.g. in the evening.
