What the role is

The Strategic Research (SR) department drives research into the planning and design implications of future trends, technologies and challenges.

What you will be working on

Internship Job Scope: • Support SR planners to plan and execute research engagements with stakeholders, and analyse and synthesise findings to inform policy and planning recommendations • Assist SR planners with the development of best practice guides on research topics by conducting additional research and fieldwork, and editing content to share findings with industry stakeholders • Conduct scan of international policies, understand policy context and potential application of building adaptation in Singapore and other research topics • Conduct scan on innovative research ideas for exhibition content development and identify stakeholders to engage Learning Outcomes: The intern is expected to reap the following learning outcomes: • Develop better understanding of land use planning in Singapore and key planning-related issues such as urban logistics, environmental sustainability and health and well-being • Acquire practical knowledge and experience in conducting research on a wide range of planning issues and applying research outcomes to inform agencies’ plans and policies • Develop skills in stakeholder engagement and management

What we are looking for

Undergraduates / Postgraduates currently pursuing Architecture, Geography, Real Estate, Urban Planning, Sociology or related social science disciplines

The Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) is Singapore's national land use planning authority. URA prepares long term strategic plans, as well as detailed local area plans, for physical development, and then co-ordinates and guides efforts to bring these plans to reality.
