What the role is
What you will be working on
- Initiate and coordinate research and development (R&D) efforts
- Assist with the translation of research findings into practical applications
- Adopt new technologies and revise existing training standards, procedures, directives, and policies
- Enhance heat resilience in soldiers
- Design and develop programmes to physically prepare soldiers for training
Challenge(s)
- Enhancing heat resilience in the face of environmental heat stress exacerbated by rapid climate change
- Preventing musculoskeletal injuries through effective physical preparation programmes
- Translating research findings into practical, implementable solutions
What we are looking for
- Education in Exercise Sciences, preferably a Masters in Human Research/Exercise Physiology
- At least 6 years of work experience in performance sports
- Past experience in heat-related research is advantageous
- Intermediate knowledge and understanding of biostatistics
- Knowledge of prevalent health and safety legislation
- Good communication and time management skills
- Ability to mentor or coach a junior scientist
