[What you will be working on]
Context:
We are the Statistics and Library Division (SLD) that supports MAS departments in their information and research needs. SLD provides relevant and up-to-date information (info) resources and library services. In this position, you will be part of the team in upgrading the library management system (LMS) and managing of library operations.
Job Description:
Participate in upgrading the LMS
Work closely with the team to assess and review various library functions of proposed LMS solutions
It includes functions as such cataloguing, serials, procurement, user management and alerts etc
Conduct user acceptance testing and provide feedback to ensure user requirements are met
Work closely with various stakeholders external vendors (info resource providers) as well as MAS’ corporate services and finance departments during upgrading process
The Library’s day-to-day and longer-term initiatives to onboard users in the new LMS, enhancing the info resource services for MAS stakeholders.
Work closely with MAS user departments to assess and review info resource needs
Administration
Routing and dissemination of physical & electronic resources, including journals, info alerts.
Database updates and recordkeeping of library collection
Perform invoicing, payment, cost allocation, and other procurement-related functions on MAS’ procurement/financial systems
[What are we looking for]
Job Requirements:
Preferably University degree; GCE ‘A’ levels/polytechnic diploma will be considered
Previous experience in library-related and/or procurement function is an advantage
Strong organisational and administrative skills
Preferably strong IT application skills; Basic competency will be considered if candidate is prepared to upgrade
Web-based tools, Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications
Library-specific software applications, including ability to perform moderately complex tasks related to procurement modules
Other software applications such as RPA and Python
Meticulous and able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
Able to work independently as well as in a team
