What the role is

We are seeking a highly skilled professional with a strong background in Digital Signal Processing (DSP) algorithms and their implementation on DSPs and/or FPGAs. The ideal candidate will contribute to a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary design team, supporting the evaluation, benchmarking, and integration of cutting-edge proprietary high-frequency signal processing algorithms into high-volume product lines. This role also involves supporting integration, testing, and verification of the final products.

What you will be working on

  • Design signal processing algorithms tailored to specific high-frequency applications.
  • Optimize algorithms for real-time execution on DSPs and/or FPGAs.
  • Translate algorithms into VHDL/Verilog or HDL for FPGA deployment, and/or configure DSP platforms for efficient processing of complex signals.
  • Analyse raw data for patterns, noise characteristics, and other signal properties.
  • Develop tools for visualizing and understanding signal behaviour.
  • Work closely with hardware engineers, software developers, and systems engineers to ensure seamless integration.
  • Collaborate with researchers or domain experts in vibration analysis, vision systems, or other application areas.
  • Initiating and managing project proposals for funding, grants, and sponsorships relevant to data applications, analytics, signal processing technologies.
  • Leading and coordinating various programs for the organization, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.

What we are looking for

  • Suitable credentials in Engineering with exposure to Signal processing applications
  • At least 5 years of experience in embedded real-time firmware development with emphasis on computational complexity. Familiarity with high-speed data acquisition systems.
  • Experience with real-time DSP frameworks or processors, familiarity with tools like MATLAB, Simulink, or Python for prototyping signal processing algorithms.
  • Strong understanding of DSP techniques such as Fourier transforms, wavelet transforms, filtering, and sampling theory. Familiarity with high-frequency signal characteristics.
  • Proficient in C/C++, Shell scripting
  • Proficiency in HDL languages like VHDL or Verilog. Experience with FPGA platforms such as Xilinx, Intel (Altera), or Lattice.
  • Proficiency in simulation and development environments (e.g., Vivado, Quartus, ModelSim, etc.).
  • Familiarity with embedded systems tools for DSP/FPGA development. Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, spectrum analysers, and logic analysers.
  • Innovative problem-solving and collaborative mindset.
