What the role is

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) aspires to be a world-class organisation in delivering safety and security for our people. The Training and Competency Development Division (TCD) is MHA’s staff authority for major and cross-cutting Training and Learning (T&L) issues and ensures that training policies and plans are progressive and future-proofed. It is responsible for charting the overall strategic direction for Home Team (HT) training policies, resource development and driving training transformation. This includes ensuring that MHA HQ officers have a seamless and meaningful training and learning (T&L) experience to ensure optimal training and learning. Key responsibilities of SAE / Exec (Training Administration) include: • Propose and implement new work processes to streamline and carry out day-to-day training administration work for the organisation • Resolve queries and problems related to training administration

What you will be working on

• Work with vendors and stakeholders to understand, review and identify specific problems and pain points in T&L administrative processes. • Work with vendors and stakeholders to brainstorm and develop the centralised data solution/system, including the plugging of gaps and changing processes as needed. This includes discussions and collaborations with stakeholders to streamline workflows and to obtain suitable data and information. • Test, review and implement the solution/system. This includes working with vendors and stakeholders to finetune the solution/system prior to implementation. • Collate and consolidate feedback based on user-tests; review and execute the refinements as needed. • Develop and implement change management strategies to enable buy-in and adoption of the new solution/system. • Following implementation, maintain the solution/system, including managing and troubleshooting problems encountered. • Identify other areas to review, refine, streamline or propose new approaches to improve training administration. • Work with HTDs to gather insights and feedback on their administrative processes to help with the development of the solution/system. • Conduct a post-implementation review with HTDs to identify possible ways to further improve the solution/system. • Resolve queries and problems related to training administration and assist MHQ Divisions in T&L processes. • Support the Division in planning and organising meetings, retreats, events and other forms of engagement. • Any other duties as assigned by supervisors

What we are looking for

• No work experience required • Strong analytical, organisational and networking skills • Excellent oral, written, presentation and interpersonal skills • Innovative, resourceful and persuasive • Passionate about training and learning and developing individual and organisational capabilities to meet future challenges • Excited to work in a greenfield area - comfortable operating without existing SOPs • Experience with training administration roles preferred • Digital experience/skills preferred, e.g. proficient in Excel and Access, Robotic Process Automation, simple app development Note: this is a contract role.
