What the role is
What you will be working on
Key Responsibilities:
• Strategic Planning: Assist in the development and implementation of long-term strategic plans and goals for A*STAR Science and Engineering Research. Conduct research and analysis to support strategic decision-making processes. Translating complex scientific and engineering insights into actionable plans.
• Program Management: Orchestrate high-impact initiatives that align with organizational goals. Oversee and manage key strategic proposals and initiatives. This will involve coordination across multiple internal and external stakeholders including government agencies, industry partners and academic institutions.
• Performance Monitoring: Develop and implement performance metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of strategic initiatives. Prepare reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders.
• Policy Development: Contribute to the formulation of policies and guidelines that support A*STAR?s strategic objectives. Provide recommendations based on best practices and emerging trends in science and engineering research. Optimizing research frameworks that fosters interdisciplinary collaborations.
• Team Leadership: Provide leadership, guidance and mentorship to a team. Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.
What we are looking for
Qualifications:
Education:
• Degree in science, engineering, business administration, or public policy. A PhD is preferred.
Experience:
• At least 8-10 years of experience in strategic planning, project management, or policy development in a research or technology-focused organization.
• Experience leading a small team is highly desirable.
• Experience in the public sector or with research councils is highly desirable.
Skills:
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to manage complex projects and lead crossfunctional teams.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Prior knowledge of Singapore's Research, Innovation and Enterprise landscape is beneficial.
