What the role is
What you will be working on
A*STAR directs and undertakes mission-oriented research to transform Singapore into a knowledge-based and innovation-driven economy. As the think-tank of A*STAR, the Planning and Policy Division (PPD) coordinates A*STAR's strategic planning and implementation to achieve A*STAR's mission, and is the key interface with A*STAR's senior management and other public sector agencies on policy matters within and beyond A*STAR.
We are looking for a passionate and motivated individual with a keen policy sense and strong analytical abilities, who can stitch across agency-wide strategies and yet be grounded in the details of implementation.
You will engage and work closely with multiple stakeholders to strategically shape the formulation of policies and frameworks, as well as corral cross-divisional teams to achieve specific outcomes/goals. In the process of stakeholder engagement and management, you will have ample opportunities to interact with A*STAR senior management directly, as well as various counterparts in government agencies including senior officials.
You are expected to develop a deep understanding of the local R&D ecosystem and policies, being closely intertwined with various facets of A*STAR policy making such as budgeting and manpower planning.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
• A Bachelors Degree in a related field
• Educational background in science and/or engineering will be an advantage
• Possess strong strategic and analytical thinking, project management and negotiation skills
• Pro-active, quality conscious, attentive to details and results-oriented
• Able to deliver results under tight timelines
• High learning agility and adaptability
• Able to work in a team and adept at harnessing the diversity in multi-disciplinary and cross-functional teams
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
• Good communication (written and verbal), people and interpersonal skills
• Relevant working experience in the public sector will be an advantage
