What the role is

The Strategic Planning team is looking for a passionate officer to be part of a dynamic team to chart the way forward for the tourism sector. You will be part of a team that will identify opportunities, risks, and formulate mid- to long-term strategies to define the next phase of tourism growth. As custodian of the corporate planning cycle, SP drives the direction and interfaces with internal business units to develop short- to mid-term workplans. SP also develops, reviews and tracks organisational performance to ensure alignment with STB's strategic outcomes and importantly, to ensure that sufficient resources are given to STB to achieve our aspirations and goals.

What you will be working on

Main Responsibilities:

As part of the Strategic Planning team, this role will allow you the opportunity to work on the tourism strategies, look into trends and uncover new growth opportunities that will help chart the way forward for the sector. You will be part of the team that oversees the management of matters in relation to the STB Board of Directors. including the renewal of Board members, annual appreciation events, planning of the pipeline of papers to be tabled at Board meetings, evaluation of Board processes etc. 

As part of the annual corporate planning cycle, you will organise key meeting platforms for STB business units to formulate their workplans in the year ahead and ensure alignment across teams. 

Key Relationships:

Within STB, you will be able to engage across all business teams and develop a keen understanding of the tourism landscape and its operating environment. You will also work closely with MTI and other government agencies, where you would be able to learn more about the work of other economic agencies and how their work is integrated to further Singapore's economic development. 

What we are looking for

  • At least 5 years of work experience with proven track record

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

  • Analytical thinking and good business acumen

  • Good stakeholder management skills

  • Comfortable working with numbers

  • Exposure to strategy-related work is a plus point

  • Good business acumen, analytical thinking and judgement     

  • Working effectively within STB to achieve results

  • Working effectively with stakeholders outside STB

  • Serving with heart, commitment and purpose

  • Being innovative and learning continuously

  • Functional Competencies required for role are Strategic Planning, Policy Development, Business Data Analytics and Procurement Operations
